In this fly tying video, Anglers All tying expert and Umpqua Signature Tyer, Delaney Chapman, shows us how to tie Galloup's Mini Boogie Man.
The original Boogie Man from Kelly Galloup is one of our favorite weighted streamer patterns and an excellent sculpin imitation. The Mini Boogie Man gives us that same profile, in a slightly smaller and lighter-weight package. This is a very versatile streamer pattern for trout, pike, bass or any predatory fish.
The combination of the sculpin head and the mallard flank feathers along the back, push their way through the water, giving this fly a dramatic side-to-side action. And the lead eyes help it get down quickly.
