Fly Tying Video: Bucktail Jerky with Daryl Eakins

In this fly tying video, Anglers All resident tying expert and Umpqua Signature tyer, Daryl Eakins, shows us how to tie his Bucktail Jerky, an excellent baitfish pattern.

Daryl’s Bucktail Jerky is a quick and easy-to-tie baitfish pattern that’s effective in both freshwater and saltwater environments. Try fishing this fly anywhere you find baitfish, and the predatory fish that eat them.

The Bucktail Jerky is built with just the right amount of bucktail – remember Daryl’s advice that, “sparse is more.” Plus, some flash, some fox, and a couple of Whiting hackle feathers. And then finished off with a durable UV head.
