Fly Tying Video: How to Tie the EZ Popper with Daryl Eakins

In this fly tying video, Anglers All tying expert and Umpqua Signature Tyer, Daryl Eakins, shows us how to tie the EZ Popper from start to finish. With the ability to tie it in a wide range of sizes and colors, this popper fly pattern is incredibly versatile. Plus, it’s fun and simple.

The EZ Popper is a great pattern to learn how to tie, thanks to its simplicity with only a handful of materials; plus, it’s versatile enough to target a variety of species. You could fish this fly for trout, panfish, bass and pike. You could even tie this popper on bigger hooks to target very big predatory species, like golden dorado. Get out some 1/0, 2/0 or 3/0 hooks, and get ready for a trip with our friends at SET Fly Fishing

Most importantly, this fly is just fun to tie. Let your creativity go a little crazy and have fun making it your own. Check out the video, as Daryl shows us how to tie the EZ Popper:
