In this fly tying video, Ben Baxter shows us how to tie the Mantis Shrimp from Umpqua feather merchants. Originally designed by Bob Veverka, the Mantis Shrimp has become a standard in saltwater fly boxes in the Bahamas and anywhere bonefish are found.
The Mantis Shrimp features a bulky body that allows it to land softly on the water, and the bead chain eyes allow it to sink fast. The use of rabbit fur and the long legs give this fly very life-like movement in the water.
