As we write this from the middle of trout country in the dead of winter, our minds are drifting to warmer places. Saltwater fly fishing adventures are calling. Among our crew, we’ve had the opportunity to fish a number of saltwater destinations. And we have to say, it’s sure hard to beat Belize.
Here are a few reasons why…
1. Accessible
Belize is incredibly accessible. A four-hour direct flight from Denver puts you in Belize City. Depending on your final destination, in-country flights or direct lodge transfers are readily available. And with just a one-hour time difference, travel to and from Belize couldn’t be easier.
2. Versatile
Whether you’re a die-hard angler that plans to live on a skiff from dawn to dusk for six-straight days, or you’re planning a family vacation with just a day or two of fishing sprinkled in, Belize has something for any individual, couple, or group.
3. The Fishing
And of course, the fishing is fabulous. If this is your first saltwater fly fishing trip, Belize has excellent options to learn the ropes. If you’re a seasoned saltwater angler, there are no shortage of challenges to be found. Our travel team can help you plan the perfect adventure.
A Few of Our Favorite Spots in Belize
How do you know where to begin your planning? That’s where we can help! When you book travel through Anglers All, you pay the same price you would when booking directly through a lodge. But you’ll have our team here to help you every step of the way. Plus, everyone who books a trip with us gets a 15% off VIP discount on purchases in-store or online from the day you put down a deposit, until your day of departure.
Here's a quick snapshot of some of our favorite spots in Belize…
Turneffe Flats Lodge – This is the most remote lodge that we work with in Belize. That means less competition on the water. It’s likely that the only boats you’ll see, are the ones from the lodge. It is also on the doorstep of the fishing. There’s no “commute” to get to the fishing.
Blue Horizon Lodge – With a prime location along the Victoria Channel, also known as permit alley, Blue Horizon is home to some renowned permit guides, lead by the legendary, Lincoln Westby. For anglers specifically targeting permit, this is a top destination.
Thatch Caye Resort – This is by far the most family-friendly saltwater lodge. Prices are a-la-carte, making it the perfect place to customize a group trip. Thatch Caye uses guides from Blue Horizon Lodge, so you’re still getting a premier fly fishing experience. And there are plenty of non-angling activities.
Tarpon Caye Lodge – This lodge boasts a great location along the famed Permit Alley. Anglers here often have more chances at big permit, if the stars align. Tarpon Caye is a dedicated fly fishing lodge, with a world-class grand slam fishery.
Cayo Frances - We are excited to announce a new partnership with Cayo Frances Farm and Fly. This unique fishing lodge experience combines a remote location, great food, and amazing DIY fishing opportunities with the ability to sprinkle in days with world class guides in the area.
And More – These are just a few of the many options available. We are happy to customize and recommend trips to you for Belize and any destination.
