Ed Ward goes by many names, Zen Master, Obi Wan, and Skagit Guru just to name a few.  To all he humbly says, "Hey, I'm just a guy who likes to fish."  From the remote steelhead rivers of Kamchatka to his home water on the Skagit River, Ed goes fishing for sure, and draws on-lookers in the process.  His reputation as an innovative steelheader and fly tier has reached global proportion.  Ed has advised rod and line manufacturers in the development of products designed to compliment Skagit Casting and make steelhead fishing with a two handed rod the most efficient, effective and pleasurable experience possible.

As one of the only qualified serious providers of two handed fly fishing tackle in Colorado, we're proud to bring our customers the most comprehensive clinic on two handed casting taught by arguably the original inventor of Skagit-style spey casting, the preferred steelhead fishing technique of most Northwestern and Canadian guides.

Ed will be conducting a full two-day long comprehensive clinic on April 24th and 25th, 2010 at the shop.  When complete, you will be proficient at C-Spey (snap T), Double Spey, and a variety of Perry Poke casts.  You will have a thorough understanding of what casts are necessary based on possible wind conditions on the river, and you will have developed the skills required to help you practice more proficiently and diagnose your own proper casting technique.

If you have a trip to Alaska, British Columbia, or the Northwestern United States planned in the immediate future, or you would like to learn more about switch rods to enjoy your trout fishing in our beautiful Western states, you owe it to yourself to learn this style of casting from the Skagit Master- Ed Ward.
